Designed with purpose. Made with integrity. Built for the future.
At Nutshell, sustainability isn’t a feature – it’s our foundation. Every decision we make, from fabric selection to supply-chain partnerships, is driven by a simple belief:
Better bags should mean a better impact.
We design bags that are functional, timeless and made from natural materials; but, more importantly, we ensure they meet some of the most rigorous social and environmental standards in the world. No shortcuts. Just accountable, transparent sustainability.
Materials that make a difference
This year marks a milestone for us.
We expanded our collection with 13 new bags crafted from natural, low-impact materials – including undyed jute and certified recycled and organic cotton.
Recycled and organic fibres offer all the benefits of traditional cotton but drastically reduce water usage, chemical input and environmental impact.
Across our full range of 31 products, we use:
• 100% Cotton
• 100% Certified Organic Cotton
• 100% Certified Recycled Cotton
• 100% Jute
Every organic and recycled product we produce is certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) and GRS (Global Recycled Standard), so we can trace it from raw fibre to finished bag.
Circular by design
Our designs are intentionally simple – because simplicity encourages longevity:
• Natural fibres
• Minimal components
• Built to last
• Easy to recycle
We believe in creating products that live longer and waste less.
A responsible bag isn’t one you buy and replace – it’s one you carry again and again.
Safe for you, safe for the planet
Every Nutshell bag is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, the world’s leading textile safety standard.
This certification tests every component – fabric, thread, label, trims – for over 1,000 harmful substances.
It ensures our bags are gentle on the skin and meet strict environmental health criteria.
Ethical from start to finish
Sustainability means nothing if people aren’t protected.
We’re committed to working only with partners who uphold international social responsibility standards. Our factories are audited and certified by leading global ethical compliance organisations:
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) ensures responsible environmental and social practices from field to finished product.
GRS (Global Recycled Standard) verifies recycled content and requires responsible chemical and social practices.
Sedex audits and improves ethical working conditions across global supply chains.
Amfori BSCI monitors and assesses labour standards and worker protection.
WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) independently certifies for safe, lawful, humane production.
These aren’t just logos on a page – they’re proof that every Nutshell bag supports fair labour, safe working environments and responsible manufacturing.
Why sustainability matter
Sustainability isn’t just about materials – it’s about every person and every process involved.
When you choose a Nutshell bag, you choose:
• Better fabrics
• Ethical production
• Long-lasting design
• Safe, chemical-tested materials
You also support a brand that chooses transparency over trends.
We believe sustainability should be visible, measurable and verifiable – not just claimed.
The future of Nutshell
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but we’re not stopping here.
We’re continuing to develop new materials and push for even greater supply-chain transparency. Our long-term goal is simple:
To create bags that are as good for the planet as they are for the people who carry them.
Better bags, thoughtfully made.
That's the Nutshell Way.
