Decoration tips to help you wrap up the festive season
The branding and decoration of clothing and outerwear has been around for a long time, and for good reason. It’s a timeless way to
enhance brand visibility, professionalism and identity, prominently displaying a logo or slogan as part of a full seasonal look.
The process of decoration has been an area of real innovation within the industry and there are now far more application methods
and techniques available than ever before. With advances in fabric and material types, it’s important to understand how different
outerwear garments should be decorated to ensure they endure and properly reflect the brand. There’s lots more information about
this in our Education Hub, including decoration guides and information about the many different techniques.
It’s this topic we explore in more detail, this week, as part of our Elevate your Outerwear campaign. We’ve partnered with four of our decoration brands to show what’s possible with the right decoration on a range of different outerwear options:
- Vinyl printing from RalaFlex – offering a wide range of vinyl prints in different colours to represent your brand.
- DTF printing from Resolute – industry-leading printers leveraging the latest in DTF (direct-to-film) print technology to transform the future of textile decoration.
- Embroidery from Madeira – premium supplier of embroidery threads and accessories, produced using modern and sustainable
technologies. - Transfer printing from TheMagicTouch – pioneers of a proven range of transfer products and applications.
RalaFlex in Action
Vinyl printing is a method which adds designs to clothing by applying a vinyl transfer that has been cut to shape. The design is cut
from a sheet of vinyl using a computer-controlled blade, then heat-pressed onto the garment.
Vinyl printing is a good choice for simple designs with less colours, smaller order quantities and synthetic fabrics, and is also
suitable for printing on less-conventional materials like nylon fabrics and hard hats. It’s a cost-effective and hard-wearing printing
style for many industries, including corporate workwear, sports attire and hi-vis safetywear.
Check out our video guides, filmed at Ralawise HQ with our very own Kat and Martin, showing how to apply RalaFlex to:
- RG045 Dover jacket – see how vinyl print and waterproof fabric is a perfect pairing.

Resolute in action
Direct-to-film (DTF) printing is a method of transferring a design onto textiles by printing it onto a special film and then using heat
to transfer it to the fabric. DTF printing can produce detailed, vivid and durable prints on a variety of fabrics, including cotton,
polyester, fleece and nylon.
DTF is a popular choice for custom printing, and for sectors including sports and leisure, as the fabric doesn’t need to be pretreated, and the inks and adhesive used in the process protect the print quality.
Join us in the Resolute DTF showroom to see demos of how DTF printing is used across a range of outerwear:

Madeira in action
Embroidery is a decorative stitching technique which uses thread or yarn to embellish fabric or other materials. While the process today is often heavily industrialised with commercial machinery, hand-stitching and smaller batch stitching can produce exquisite results.
A ‘go to’ approach which many industries use for branded apparel, embroidery is as suited to corporate uniforms and workwear as it is to fashion and athleisure.
Filmed at the Madeira UK HQ, these are our guides to using embroidery:
- RG045 Dover jacket – see art in action as embroidery is applied to a waterproof style.
- NB30M Duxbury softshell jacket – elevate your decoration with 3D embroidery, as an alternative to the classic style.

TheMagicTouch in action
Transfer printing is a method for applying designs to clothing by printing the design onto a special paper or film and then transferring it to the garment using heat and pressure. It’s a versatile technique that can be used on a variety of materials and is a popular choice for custom apparel.
With vibrant and durable printing, it’s a popular choice across clothing and accessories in a wide range of industries.
