Windbreakers, which have cycled in and out of style for decades, are coming back into the spotlight, according to fashion designer Jazmin Monét: “Although windbreaker jackets were very popular in the ‘90s, we’ve seen a resurgence in this style”, she told BusinessInsider.com in an article earlier this year. Lightweight, water-repellent, foldable and often technical in fabric performance, windbreakers are resurfacing across the fashion, sports and corporate world as a great option for staying ahead of the transitional weather.

Going on to talk about hardshell jackets, the designer continued: “Hardshell jackets, in general, are great, and it’s nice to see them being made out of innovative and unorthodox materials”. These are a corporate workwear and uniform staple, as well as a great option for everyday wear, thanks to the breathable yet often waterproof outer layer which provides a smart and comfortable look for every season.

Puffer coats have remained popular over the years, with subtle design features helping them stay at the forefront of fashion outerwear. This autumn, we’re seeing a shift back from the more fitted versions with less filling to thicker coats, with fashion designer Jarrah Webster reflecting, in the same article, that “the trend isn’t visually appealing anymore, and it’s becoming less and less original”.
