WHAT IS DTF?

Direct to Film (DTF) is the latest, innovative transfer technology that garment decorators and promotional product suppliers have been waiting for: eco water-based inks;no pre-treatment required; soft feel; durable and suitable for cotton, polyester, performance fabrics, workwear, piqué fabrics, canvas, leather, denim and lots more, regardless
of garment or item colour.
It’s a printing method that involves printing designs onto a film which is then transferred to a variety of surfaces. DTF printing has become increasingly popular because of its versatility and durability, as well as its high-quality output. This technology is ideal for printing designs onto garments, hats, bags, and a huge range of other products – all with no cutting or weeding.

TRUST THE PROCESS

1. Design creation: Start by creating your design using digital graphic software such as Adobe Illustrator. If you don’t have advanced design skills or access to professional software, there are other user-friendly
options like Canva or Procreate that can help you create eye-catching designs.
2. File preparation: Once your design is ready, export it as a high-resolution PNG file with a transparent background.
3. Printing: Load your design onto specialised Direct to Film printer software compatible with your printer model.
4. Transfer application: Apply an adhesive powder on top of the printed design before curing it under heat.
5. Heat pressing: Finally, press the printed film onto your chosen substrate using a heat press machine at specific
settings tailored for DTF transfers.
